Baran in Rajasthan–where a beautiful princess thwarted Aurangzeb’s evil desires

Baran is not a typical desert city of Rajasthan though it has dry weather. Long ago, Baran was called Varah Nagari and Annapurna Nagari. Its foundations were laid by the Solanki Rajputs in the 14th and 15th century, but the Mughals annexed the empire in the 17th century.
