A day soaked in devotion at Nathdwara

Thakur Ji ki Haveli, as the main temple is known, is not open all through the day. It opens at darshan time, which varies season to season. Locals, however, guided me promptly with the time. There are eight darshans that happen during the day. It was around 11 AM when I was told that Rajbhog darshan is about to happen. This is the time when the main meal is offered to the baby form of Lord Krishna and everyone rejoices as he eats. I walked through the narrow lanes leading to the temple or rather emanating from the temple. Whitewashed walls with colourful paintings teased me to stop a bit and admire them but my guide said, let us come back after the darshan.
